Biography

Price winner of the last Concours de Berlioz 2019 in Paris, Yang Xiu is a light lyric soprano, trained by the greatest opera singers of our time. She begins to study piano and singing at age of five in her hometown Qingdao, after have won several prices of singing in China, she came to France in order to perfect singing with Patrizia Ciofi, Léontina Vaduva, Nadine Denise, Alessandro Svab, Jacques Calatayud, Jeff Cohen, Anne-Marie Fontaine, Florence Katz especially Françoise Pollet who has accompanied her singing works since 2009. Dilber is also her mentor in China.

From 2017, she is member of the ensemble of Opéra de Dijon. Within her opera productions, includes Fanny in La cambiale di matrimonio, and Tirésias in Les mamelles de Tirésias with the Lyrique Atelier of Music Conservatory of Paris. In March 2017, she was Papagena with Piccolo Opera Bretagne, in October 2017, she was soloist at the concert of "La semaine bleue” at the Opéra of Dijon. In summer 2018, with conductor Guoyong ZHANG she sang as soloist at the opening gala concert of Music Festival of Qingdao, China. From 2014, with the support of the association “Les vocations d’Euterpe”, several recitals has been hold in Paris in which she sang with piano or guitare the repertoire of French melodies, lied, Spanish lyrique songs, English baroque songs and opera arias. In the last season, she was Stephano in Romeo et Juliette of Gounod at the Congres Center of Rennes, France and Donzella in La Finta Pazza of Sacrati in Opéra de Dijon, Opéra Royale of Versailles and Victoria Hall of Geneva with conductor Gracia Alarcon. Yang is passioned in the communication of music culture, she was diplome holder of Music history at the Music Conservatory of Boulogne-Billancourt and in 2015 she was invited by the musicologist Hélène Pierrakos to the Radio Fréquence Protestante to talk about the occident opera in China.
